Oden brings an infectious energy and genuine love of Jackson, community and of course, jewelry, to Oden Jewelry and Watch, on West Deloney Street. “I came into this store 30 years ago and immediately fell in love with Dick (Richard Thoenig),” Knapp said. “The family has become great friends of ours over the decades.” Now retired from wholesale watch and jewelry sales, Knapp was helping Robin, Dick’s daughter, with the store last summer when the two women agreed that she should rent the building.
“I have a passion for jewelry,” Knapp said. “Who isn’t happy buying something beautiful for themselves for someone they love? You know what else I love? I love this community. I love that this store is rooted in serving the local community. We will be doing a lot for this community as we move ahead. It’s very important to us to reinvest in organizations that are working to support Jackson and Jackson’s Western heritage.”
Knapp and her staff are delighted to work in the local business community where jewelers work together to serve a variety of client needs — if she doesn’t have want you are looking for, she will find someone who does. She’s happy to change a watch battery in your everyday timepiece while also offering some of the highest quality and most rare jewelry finds in the Tetons. Thinking about popping the question? Knapp wants to hear your love story just as much as she wants to offer you a diverse collection of rings to fit your style (and budget).
The shop is still available to fix any jewelry too, from broken chains to new settings.
“I love to do what I've loved to do in the jewelry and watch business for the last 35 years,” Knapp said. “And I love honoring that grouchy Dick Thoenig,” she added with a big and knowing laugh.
